BGL has hit the road for Xero Roadshow 2023

We are excited to hit the road this week for the Xero Roadshow 2023!

We are travelling the length and breadth of the country, attending a total of 13 locations. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new and current clients, our ecosystem partners, and the accounting community to continue sharing the benefits of the BGL Suite (Simple Fund 360, Simple Invest 360 and CAS 360).

Showcasing our latest features

The last few months have released amazing features. Such as…

Company Tax Return, making it even easier for BGL clients to prepare and lodge tax returns in Simple Invest 360!

New two-way integration with Xero Practice Manager, allowing clients to efficiently manage client and contact data across four applications in a single database – a dream for any professional firm!

Automated document reminder in CAS 360, making the follow-up with clients for outstanding company change documents, Annual Returns/Reviews and trust documents a breeze!

Plus, much more to come…

CAS Desktop end of product life date set

By BGL UpdateNo Comments

The end of life for CAS Desktop will be on 30 June 2023.

Last year, BGL advised its clients that the end of life for CAS Desktop will be on 30 June 2023.

The end of an era...

BGL launched CAS in DOS 33 years ago, later updating to CAS for Windows in 1995.

The industry has changed a lot since then, and most of our clients have now moved to CAS 360, our cloud-based company compliance software solution.

The introduction of Director IDs prompted us to develop a suite of Director ID features in CAS 360 to help manage and streamline the administration of these new requirements for clients. These features were not added to CAS Desktop as we were confident that before Director IDs would be required on documents by ASIC, CAS Desktop would have reached its end of life.

As you would be aware, the ABRS has dragged its feet with the implementation of the new Modernising Business Registers System, which is unlikely to begin before 2025, but the requirement to obtain and keep details of Director IDs applies from 14 December 2022. As CAS Desktop does not include this functionality, it is effectively non-compliant. Therefore, now is the time to announce the end-of-product life for CAS Desktop in Australia will be 30 June 2023.

What does this mean?

  • Support and the ability to log support calls for CAS Desktop will cease.
  • You will no longer be able to renew your CAS Desktop subscription.
  • You will still be able to access CAS Desktop until your subscription expiry date.
  • You will still have access to the BGL Wiki.
  • Our Client Success Team will be able to assist you with migration to CAS 360.

What's next? CAS 360!

CAS 360 is the natural progression for CAS Desktop clients.

Migration is easy with our dedicated onboarding specialists. Our extensive resources and services will help you with your journey. This includes:

  • Migration of ALL your valuable historical data and documents from CAS Desktop to CAS 360.
  • Comprehensive learning resources to help you and your team get started.
  • A support team to deliver technical product help when you need it.
  • A dedicated Account Manager to be your go-to person at BGL.

To learn how easy it is to migrate from CAS Desktop to CAS 360 or if you would like to discuss these changes, please reach out to your Account Manager today.

BGL announces Great Place to Work recertification

By BGL Update, CultureNo Comments

BGL is proud to announce it has achieved Great Place to Work recertification for the 2022-2023 year.

“This is a great accomplishment by the BGL Team and especially our People and Culture Team,” said Ron Lesh, BGL’s Managing Director. “This certification means a lot to BGL and recognises the constant and consistent effort of our People and Culture Team to provide BGL’s 200+ employees with a safe, inclusive, and friendly work environment. I’m extremely proud of them.”

Great Place To Work Certification recognises employers who create an outstanding employee experience. Certification is a two-step process that requires the submission of a comprehensive culture brief, capturing the people practices that make a company brilliant and unique. Plus, an employee experience survey, with questions relating to organisational culture and company leadership.

“BGL can only achieve great goals with inspired and passionate people who are motivated to produce outstanding results for our clients,” continued Lesh. “So, we work hard to create and foster a workplace culture where everyone is valued and respected.”

Daniel Tramontana, Chief Executive Officer at BGL, said, “Software is at the core of what we do. It’s the reason thousands of firms choose to transact with us. But clients stay with BGL because of our people, community and culture. Our people are our greatest point of differentiation, and we are truly blessed with the best.”

In recent years, BGL has become an accredited Mental Health First Aid Skilled Workplace and Great Place to Work ® Certified™. BGL is recognised on the Great Place To Work® Best Workplaces for Women List and the 2021 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work List as the 6th best technology workplace in Australia and New Zealand. With the help of Joel Clapham, Founder and Chief Mental Health Champ at Hearten Up, BGL has also supported 36 staff to become accredited Mental Health First Aiders.
