BGL appoints Executive Team to drive strategic growth and innovation

BGL Corporate Solutions (BGL), Australia’s leading provider of company compliance, self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) and investment management software, has announced the appointment of an Executive Team of exceptional talent to drive strategic growth and innovation.

The purpose of the BGL Executive Team is to deliver on the strategic and operational requirements of BGL. With a strong emphasis on growth and development, their goal is to retain, educate and grow our people, clients, partners and the industries in which we work. By maintaining core values and a commitment to exceptional products and experiences, the team aims to achieve sustained growth across all facets of the business.

Ashley Avileli – Chief Technology Officer

Simple Fund 360 Trustee Edition Software Subscription Renewal Fee Increase – 1 October 2023

BGL will increase the Simple Fund 360 Trustee Edition software subscription renewal fee from 1 October 2023.

BGL has not increased the Simple Fund 360 Trustee Edition software subscription fee since the product was first launched in 2014.

Over the past 9 years, the Simple Fund 360 Team has released updates every 3 weeks with hundreds of new features, enhancements and compliance changes.

The time has therefore come to increase the Simple Fund 360 Trustee Edition software subscription fee.

From 1 October 2023, the Simple Fund 360 Trustee Edition software subscription renewal fee will increase from $200.00 plus GST to $250.00 plus GST.

BGL first to release 2023 SMSF Annual Tax Return

BGL Corporate Solutions, Australia’s leading provider of company compliance, self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) and investment management software, has announced the release of the 2023 SMSF Annual Tax Return in its SMSF administration software solution, Simple Fund 360.

“I am continually impressed with our Simple Fund 360 team,” said Ron Lesh, BGL’s Managing Director. “Since 1 January 2023, they have delivered 6 significant updates, including support for the 2023 SMSF Annual Return 6 weeks before the end of the financial year and even SBR electronic lodgment before 30 June 2023.”

Released on 18 May 2023, the Simple Fund 360 tax time update supports the 2023 SMSF Annual Tax Return, complete with all the required supporting schedules and electronic lodgment to the ATO from 1 July 2023. SBR electronic lodgment has also been switched on following ATO system updates. Support for newly registered funds and funds winding up for the 2023 Annual Return is also supported.

BGL’s free open API was also updated, allowing clients to seamlessly send the 2023 SMSF Annual Tax Return from Simple Fund 360 to Xero Tax and LodgeiT for lodgment.

On 15 June 2023, BGL released Part 2 of its tax time update, which includes support for the 2023 Trust and Company Income Tax Returns in its accounting, investment, and tax software, Simple Invest 360. SBR electronic lodgment is also available.

What's New?

ASIC Fee Increase: ASIC company and business name fees have been updated in CAS 360 to reflect the ASIC fee increase that will take effect on 1 July 2023. (Note: Changes won’t apply until 1 July 2023). Learn More

Company Registration Post-Incorporation Document Pack: Users now have the option to add the Allotment Journal to the post incorporation document pack in CAS 360. Learn More

Incorporation State is now saved: When a user for a firm adds a new company registration, CAS 360 will automatically save the last used incorporation state (e.g. Victoria) in the user’s settings.  Learn More

Form 362 Cover Letter: If a company has been added to CAS 360 without directors, users can quickly add/select a contact as the form signatory while preparing Form 362.  If the user also chooses to prepare a cover letter, CAS 360 will now automatically prefill the letter addressee with the selected contact/form signatory information. User Permissions: New user role settings have been added to allow or restrict user access to specific CAS 360 screens. If a user is denied access to a specific screen, the screen icon will no longer appear in the left-hand menu. Learn More

User Roles: New user role permissions have been added to allow or restrict user access to the Company Selection screen. This user role is ideal for firms who only want users to complete Company Registrations without the ability to view/change existing company details. CAS 360 account owners and administrators can turn on or off the ability for specific users to view the Company Selection page. These permissions are set in the User Role Screen. Learn More

BGL API: The CAS 360 API allows partners to retrieve all Company and Trust documents prepared in CAS 360. Now, any document not attached to a specific Company or Trust can also be retrieved via the CAS 360 API using the document ID. Learn More 

Companies Listing Report: Columns for ‘Company Class’ and ‘Company SubClass’ have been added to the Companies Listing Report. Note this change only applies to the Excel version of the report, not the PDF version. Learn More 

People Group Report: When applicable, the ‘Business Name cease date’ will now be displayed in the business name section of the People Group Report. Learn More
